A few simple words guide us in complex markets

We do our best to always adhere to the fiduciary standard, as we know it: always do what you believe is best for your client, always put the client’s interests above your own. When we read James P. Owen’s ‘Cowboy Ethics’ he had captured the spirit of how we live & work, without ever knowing us.

Here are the 10 concise maxims that Owen put forward as the epitome of cowboy ethics—a set of rules that have guided Sand Creek Investment Partners and will continue to do so:

  1. Live each day with courage.
  2. Take pride in your work.
  3. Always finish what you start.
  4. Do what has to be done.
  5. Be tough, but fair.
  6. When you make a promise, keep it.
  7. Ride for the brand.
  8. Talk less and say more.
  9. Remember that some things aren't for sale.
  10. Know where to draw the line.
